Rajendra Patel, MD

Rajendra Patel, MDDr. Rajendra Patel, MD, FACS is a Board-certified vascular surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and management of circulatory diseases involving arteries and veins.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and was elected to the prestigious AOA honor medical society while there. He then trained in General Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Patel also completed a two year research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Patel completed a Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Patel practiced vascular surgery and was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at both Florida State University and University of Central Florida medical schools in Orlando before joining Prima CARE’s Center for Vascular Diseases in 2012.

Dr. Patel is Board-certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He Is a registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation and was the Medical Director of a vascular laboratory in Orlando. He has received research grants for basic science research in vascular disease. Dr. Patel has contributed to the vascular literature and had lectured and presented his research and clinical findings extensively throughout his career. He has also been involved in clinical trials involving carotid stenting and lower extremity revascularization. He is the Medical Director for Vascular Care at St. Anneโ€™s Hospital.

Dr. Patel is particularly interested in the management of aortic aneurysms, limb salvage and carotid disease. This includes the use of cutting edge minimal invasive (endovascular) techniques such stent-graft repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, percutanous lower extremity revascularization and carotid stenting. He also treats atherosclerotic and diabetic arterial disease, venous disease, and dialysis access.

Dr. Patel has performed the first carotid stent and endovascular thoracic aortic stent graft in southeast Massachusetts. He has developed the first ruptured aneurysm protocol iand also performed the first endovascular aortic aneurysm repair for ruptured aneurysm.
